Susan, Stetson and I did this one on our way to Tennessee to pick up our new Sheltie puppy the week of Christmas 2010. This was my 4th US Highpoint and the second for Susan and Stetson. At 2,407 ft. Cheaha Mountain is the 35th highest point in the US. This trek starts where we left I-20 and stops at the highpoint. The drive was very nice, especially when we took a wrong turn and were rewarded with some very classic rural scenery and lots of old farmhouses, some falling down and some still in use. We stopped at one such farm and were greeted by a donkey and a very friendly horse. This was the “highpoint” for Stetson.
